Before we begin our weekly routine of shared thoughts and text analysis, I believe introductions are in order as well as a big thank you to Julia for the creation of this blog.

I am currently in my second year of my primary and middle school teaching degree after having spent many a year in the retail industry until finally deciding to move towards following my long-time dream of becoming a teacher. These working years, though spent primarily tailoring to consumerism, were essential to my development of self and gave me the skills and perspective that was the catalyst I needed to take the plunge and pursue a new career choice. Taking the above into consideration, much like the students before and to come, I am not too dissimilar to the texts that this blog will feature. I aim to take you on my journey as both a pre service teacher and as a devotee of language and literacy, with all the various plot twists and turns that happen along the way to reaching my goal.
