Picture book - “Clifford the Big Red
Dog” by Norman Birdwell
This children’s book is the first book of a series written
by Norman Birdwell about a big red dog named Clifford. The story starts off
with a young girl named Emily Elizabeth introduces herself and her tiny red
puppy who would soon become her big red dog named Clifford to the reader in a
first person account. The book is filled with bold and colourful illustrations
that fill each page up, meaning there is limited amount of text. This allows
the young readers to predict and analyse what is happening in the pictures much
better.
